The ruling on one who doubts in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If one doubts about performing an act of prayer, whether he performed it or not, is the prostration for forgetfulness prescribed for him, O Shaykh?

Answer:
He must build upon certainty first. If he doubts whether he prayed two or three rak'ahs, he considers it two. If he doubts whether he prostrated in the second rak'ah, he prostrates. If he doubts whether he bowed or did not bow, he bows, then he prostrates for forgetfulness at the end of the prayer.

The presenter : So, the prostration for forgetfulness is prescribed even for doubt.

The Shaykh : The prostration is obligatory.

The presenter : Is it obligatory?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is obligatory. First, if he doubts, he acts upon certainty, then he prostrates for forgetfulness at the end of the prayer.

The presenter : May Allah bless you, reward you, and give you the best reward.
