What is the ruling on fanaticism for the name Salafi, and loving or hating it, rather than for the methodology?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He is a shaykh, and we do not wrong our brother 'Ara'ur; he does not say that what I mentioned is a religious innovation.

The Shaykh : It is upon the narrator's guarantee.

The questioner : But perhaps he is saying that fanaticism for the name, and loving or hating it, not for the methodology, is like the one who says, "I am an Ikhwan member" or "I am a Tahrir member" or such. It is for the name. He gave the example that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) named the Muhajireen and the Ansar in His Book with this name, and this name is prescribed. But when the Ansar became fanatical for the Ansar and the Muhajireen for the Muhajireen, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do you innovate the pre-Islamic age of ignorance while I am among you?! Leave it, for it is stinking. أبدعوى الجاهلية وأنا بين ظهرانيكم ؟! اتركوها فإنها منتنة
, so he condemned fanaticism for the name, not the Muhajireen and the Ansar themselves.

The Shaykh : And that is why Al-Albani said to you just now: if he says, "I am an Albani" to describe the reality, no one says that, but "I am an Albani."

The questioner : No, this is what is happening now. The basic issue is: if he says "Salafi," he does not take from him or... if he says such, they make it partisan, meaning this one does not take from this one or that one. And this, even if he is a sinner, even if the group is the same, he takes from him and greets him. This is happening now among us.

The Shaykh : I do not care what happens; we clarify the truth. And I said just now, I said just now, referring to something you are mentioning now: he says, "I am a Muslim," but he may contradict Islam.

The questioner : You have done well, Shaykh Nasser. Even though he is a Muslim, he has contradictions...

The Shaykh : And this is a Salafi, but he contradicts the Salafi methodology in little or much. So we discuss that this name is not called a religious innovation; it is not called a religious innovation at all. But if something results from this name, from the one who claims this name, such as boasting or claiming what is not part of it, then that is what resulted from the name, and it resulted from the misunderstanding of the call to Islam. May Allah reward you.

The questioner : Students of knowledge, my shaykh, they speak in the mosques about issues, meaning the disputed ones. They tell you, "We are the Salafis," and you find that the disagreement between them leads to beating and cursing, on the basis that "we are the Salafis, we are on the true methodology, and below us are on the false methodology."

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you. I told you there is no difference between the one who says, "I am a Muslim," and he is a thief, a fornicator, and so on.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : That is it.

The questioner : Our shaykh, if someone said, "For example, my creed is like what [he] believes..."The Shaykh : Is it permissible for Al-Albani?
