The Shaykh gave some examples clarifying the misguidance of those who deviated from the Book and the Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf of the Ummah, including the Qadiyyah sect.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : It is necessary to give some examples that clarify that there is no infallibility for everyone who is keen to adhere to the Book and the Sunnah, let alone for those who deviated from them. There is absolutely no way to be upon the Book and the Sunnah unless one adheres to the condition:
What I am upon and my Companions. ما أنا عليه وأصحابي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2641Da'if (Darussalam)
; because, as we said at the beginning of the discourse, all the schools of thought claim affiliation with the Book and the Sunnah, even the misguided sects. The most misguided sects in this age are the Qadiyyah group, to whom a man came who claimed prophethood for them, and they followed him, and he gained supporters in many European and American countries, and Muslims in some Arab countries followed him. Why? Because they did not adhere to this methodology: understanding the Book and the Sunnah as the righteous Salaf did. I will give an example of what they understood from the texts of the Book and the Sunnah, and they called people to their understanding, so they went astray and led others astray. Among the things by which they deviated from the Book and the Sunnah in the name of the Book and the Sunnah is their claim that many prophets will come after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They added to this that one of them has already come, who was known as Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiyani or Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiyani.
This man came to texts from the Book and the Sunnah that are explicit that there is no prophet after the Messenger (peace be upon him). Nevertheless, their prophet and those who followed him in his misguidance claimed to be a prophet, even though Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
. How did they interpret His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
and the Seal of the Prophets وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ
? In terms of Arabic style, they said: "The Seal of the Prophets" means their adornment, and it does not mean that he is the last of them. They brought some usages of the Arabic language, for example, it is said: "So-and-so is the seal of the scholars," or "So-and-so is the seal of the literati," but this does not mean that there is no scholar after him or no literatus after him; rather, the intended meaning is that he is the adornment of the scholars and the adornment of the literati. They interpreted this verse with this interpretation, and as Arabic speech, it can bear such a false interpretation if we stop only at the understanding of an Arab man. But this meaning is invalidated if we return to the reception of the explanation of the Messenger (peace be upon him) referred to in the previous verse:
And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them وَأَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ
[An-Nahl 16:44]
. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified in many mass-transmitted hadiths that there is no prophet after him (peace and blessings be upon him), such as his saying:
Indeed Messenger-ship and Prophethood have been terminated, so there shall be no Messenger after me, nor a Prophet. إن الرسالة والنبوة قد انقطعت فلا رسول ولا نبيَّ بعدي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2272Sahih (Darussalam)
. Nevertheless, they came to this text—meaning those Qadiyyans—:
There is no prophet after me. لا نبيَّ بعدي
and they distorted it and interpreted it with another interpretation that does not contradict their misguidance in claiming the permissibility of prophets coming after him (peace be upon him), and that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiyani was truthful in his claim of prophethood. Because the meaning of:
There is no prophet after me. لا نبيَّ بعدي
, in their claim, is: "There is no prophet with me, and none after me." The meaning of "no prophet with me" differs completely from the indication of this hadith and others, namely: there is no prophet after him (peace be upon him) absolutely until the Hour stands.
So, when they fell into this great misguidance, they did not depart from their claim: "We are upon the Book and the Sunnah." But we say to them and to those like them from the old and new sects:
"And claims, unless you establish for them *** proofs, their offspring are claimants"
If you claim that the meaning of the previous verse:
and the Seal of the Prophets وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ
; i.e., the adornment of the prophets, and you claim that his saying (peace be upon him):
There is no prophet after me. لا نبيَّ بعدي
means "no prophet with me," then you must prove that this is the meaning that the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) understood from it, where they received the verse and the hadith directly from him. Then the Tabi'un came after them and their followers followed them in this meaning you claim. They will find no way to that. On that basis, they also brought new beliefs that the righteous Salaf did not know at all, even though they say, "We are upon the Book and the Sunnah." For example, they deny a creation of Allah that was mentioned in the Book of Allah more than once, namely the jinn. Indeed, there is a Surah named after this creation. They denied this creation not by denying the entire Surah al-Jinn and other texts that establish this creation which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) established among what He established, such as the angels, but they said the meaning of the jinn is the humans, i.e., the people.
So, when the misguided sects go astray from the straight path, they do not say, "We are not upon the Book and the Sunnah." Rather, all of them claim that, but they go astray because of their deviation from what the righteous Salaf were upon in their understanding of the texts of the Book and the Sunnah. These are two recent examples in the present age, and the student of knowledge must analogize from this to the old differences that occurred among the known sects, such as the Mu'tazilah, the Murji'ah, the Khawarij, and the like. The deviation of these people from the correct Salafi creed was not because they turned away from adhering to the Book and the Sunnah. No, it was not any of that, but rather because they relied on their own heads and imposed their own understandings on the Book and the Sunnah, understanding them as they appeared to them, without considering what the Messenger (peace be upon him) urged them to adhere to: what he and his Companions were upon. Not only what he was upon, because what he was upon can be interpreted with different interpretations, as we gave some examples of that. But he said:
What I am upon and my Companions. ما أنا عليه وأصحابي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2641Da'if (Darussalam)
