Is it permissible for Muslims to enter the houses of idols?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And I think there is more to the question:
It is not permissible for Muslims to enter the houses of idols, nor to visit the places where the punishment descended upon some of the peoples who preceded Islam, except when compelled to pass through. As he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in some of the authentic hadiths:
That if they are compelled to pass through, let them weep, and if they do not weep, let them make themselves weep. أنهم إن اضطروا أن يمرّوا فليبكوا، فإن لم يبكوا فليتباكوا
Because this is a very great calamity, and its traces still remain in some of the Arab lands. So intentionally going to the places of punishment is not permissible, but whoever passes through there should pass quickly, fearing that he may be struck by what he does not like and what he dislikes.
