Benefits of the Hadith: (When you go to relieve yourselves, do not face the qiblah with your urine or excrement, but face east or west).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated in their Sahihs from the hadith of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you go to relieve yourselves, do not face the qiblah with your urine or excrement, but face east or west. Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When we came to Sham, we found the latrines facing the qiblah, and we seek forgiveness from Allah.
And we seek forgiveness from Allah with you on this night. This hadith is general, whether the latrines are in buildings or in the desert. There is nothing that restricts this hadith to the desert to the exclusion of buildings. Rather, there is what confirms the generality of this hadith, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who spits in the direction of the qiblah will come on the Day of Resurrection in the state that his saliva will be between his eyes من بصق تجاه القبلة جاء يوم القيامة وبصقه بين عينيه
Sunan Abi Dawud 3824Sahih (Al-Albani)
There is no doubt that spitting is much lighter than urine and excrement. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned spitting without restricting it to a wall or a desert, and it is less than urine and excrement, this indicates that facing the qiblah with urine or excrement, even in a building, is worse than spitting toward the qiblah. There are other hadiths that confirm this hadith. This hadith about spitting is narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan from the hadith of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman. There are other hadiths in its meaning that confirm what I am saying. He (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and found spittle on the wall of the qiblah, so he strongly disapproved of it and forbade spitting toward the qiblah. Some hadiths indicate that if a person is overcome by the need to spit while praying, he should not spit toward the qiblah, but rather to his left or under his foot. This should be mentioned and memorized on this occasion.
