Warning about a common error in attributing the Shafi'i jurist Ahmad al-Haytami, and a reminder of an important book of his.

The Shaykh : One should be aware that this attribution is sometimes confused in print and then in transmission with al-Haythami. Al-Haythami is earlier than this one; he is the shaykh of al-Hafiz al-Iraqi in hadith, and he is Nur al-Din al-Haythami, the author of the book *Majma' al-Zawa'id wa Manba' al-Faraid*. As for Ahmad ibn Hajar al-Haytami, his name is written with the doubled ta (tā' mu'addadah), as they say in hadith in the books of hadith.
