The questioner : Is al-Haythami's book "Majma' al-Zawa'id wa Manba' al-Fawa'id" comprehensive of all of al-Tabarani's collections? And are all of al-Tabarani's collections printed?

The Shaykh : I say that regarding the first part of the question, if it is about al-Tabarani's collections, "Majma' al-Zawa'id" is a compilation of everything in al-Tabarani's three collections, subject to the condition mentioned by the author, al-Hafiz al-Haythami, at the beginning of his book. For this reason, he named the book with that condition in mind when he called it "Majma' al-Zawa'id"; by "zawa'id" (additions), he means additions to the Six Books. He wrote this book to collect the additions to the Six Books from al-Tabarani's three collections and the other three books he relied upon, which are Musnad al-Imam Ahmad, Musnad al-Bazzar, and Musnad Abi Ya'la. So al-Hafiz al-Haythami (may Allah have mercy on him) collected in this book, "Majma' al-Zawa'id", from these books the sound hadiths that are not found in the six well-known books known as the Six Mothers. For example, he does not include in this book a hadith
There is no Salat for the one who does not recite Fatihatil-Kitab. لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بفاتحة الكتاب
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 247Sahih (Darussalam)
that was narrated by al-Tabarani or in another book, as long as it is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari or others; and so on. The only exception is if one of the six books he relied upon contains a hadith... where the narrator is not a Companion, whereas the hadith is in the Six Mothers; in this case, he also extracts it and includes it in his book "Majma' al-Zawa'id". However, if the Companion is the same and the hadith is the same, he does not include it, being content with its presence in one of the six mother books. As for the printing of al-Imam al-Tabarani's three collections, unfortunately, nothing has been published except the *Mu'jam al-Saghir* (Small Collection). It was printed long ago in India in a poor, unorganized edition without an index. It was then reprinted in Egypt in an edition that may be better than the previous one, but it is also not authenticated, not well-serviced, and no indexes were prepared for it. With this, the question is concluded.

The questioner : The seventh question.
