What is your advice for the youth who have split into two groups: one group that declares people disbelievers and accuses those who disagree with them of being Murji'ah?

The questioner : Our Shaykh, the youth have now split into two factions; one faction declares people disbelievers and accuses the other faction, which does not declare people disbelievers, of being Murji'ah, and the faction that does not declare people disbelievers accuses the faction that does of being Khawarij. Our Shaykh, those who are declaring people disbelievers are young men who know very little of the knowledge, and they think that declaring people disbelievers is bravery and heroism, and you know that the common people are inclined toward these people, against these people. So, our Shaykh, what is the advice for this faction and that faction, and what should a Muslim do if he sits with these and those?
The Shaykh : By Allah, there is no power and no strength except with Allah! We have spoken about this issue so much that I almost got tired of it.
The student : No, do not get tired, O Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Especially since your friend Abu Ahmad attended the session.
The student : I did not attend it.
The Shaykh : It is known, and perhaps he is pressing the record button.
The student : Our Shaykh, today I see that we are making du'a for you, there are people making du'a for you, O our Shaykh, because we are also going to send the tape to our brother 'Abd al-'Azim, because more than one phone called me wanting a tape from our Shaykh on this topic.
The Shaykh : There is no power and no strength except with Allah! We are on the way talking...
The student : ...there are people making du'a for you in your absence...
The Shaykh : In any case.
The student : It no longer comes out first, second, third, fourth, and fifth.
Another student: Here... like our brothers whom the men of da'wah called to dhikr.
The Shaykh : We have said more than once on repeated occasions, and we are also coming to this place; we have addressed such an issue, so we mentioned a poem by some scholars which I repeat on such an occasion:
"Knowledge, if you seek it, is abundant,
And life is too short to acquire it
So present the more important of them, then the more important.
I believe that this fitnah is among the works of Satan, by which he wants to divert the Muslims, first, from performing what Allah has obligated upon them, in a manner that is not permissible for them to do. So if they were to do what is permissible, which is the recommended, it would not be permissible for them to do so; because they are neglecting the obligatory in the path of the voluntary. It is authentically reported from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): "Indeed, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) does not accept the deed of the night if one does not perform the deed of the day," or in other words: "He does not accept the voluntary until the obligatory is performed." Now, many of the youth, in addition to the common people I referred to, who have been given a small share of knowledge, Satan has made it attractive to them to open a door for division among the Muslims; so focusing on what is not obligatory is the least that can be said, and turning away from what is obligatory. We, meaning the Salafis in the terminology of some countries, the people of Hadith in the terminology of other countries, the supporters of the Sunnah in Egypt, we who all belong to this, even if the names differ, all of them point to one matter and one methodology; which is returning to the Book and the Sunnah and to what our righteous predecessors were upon. We firmly believe that the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and our righteous predecessors proceeded upon that, and from this belief of ours, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who was found among the polytheists and in the House of Allah the Sacred, and on its pillars and on its back were the idols that were worshipped besides Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and in the House of Allah the Sacred; so he did not care about anything except calling people to worship Allah (Mighty and Majestic) alone, having no partner, and he separated from everything. He did not forbid riba, zina, theft, backbiting, talebearing, and so on, except after a period of time and after a delay; why? Because as He said (Glorified and Exalted is He):[An-Najm 53:3-4], so Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the one who revealed to him to command people to worship Allah and to avoid the taghut.
The Muslims today, for a long time, and those who testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; the majority of them do not know the reality of these two testimonies: the first testimony: that there is no god but Allah, that we do not worship except Allah alone, having no partner. The other testimony: and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; that we do not worship him except by what Allah has prescribed and by what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) brought. The two testimonies now, the reality of their meaning is missing among the masses of Muslims, and the first testimony, tawhid, we find in many of the lands of Islam, especially the lands of the non-Arabs who were deprived of knowing the Arabic language which helps them to understand the legal rulings, that they worship other than Allah, and the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) applies to many of them:[Yusuf 12:106], and we, unfortunately, have experiences with the people there, and I mention a very sad example, but it expresses the reality of the Muslims, and there is no difference in that between women and men, and the matter is as he said (peace be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 236, I passed on a road there in Damascus, meaning a wide road, I heard a voice and I was not concerned about the source of this voice initially, this voice says: "Heal my son for me," and I was walking and I looked and there was a woman standing at a shrine they think is the shrine of so-and-so the wali, she was asking this alleged wali buried in that place to heal her son and her child who was in her lap, so I stopped to refute; I said to her: O so-and-so, ask for healing and well-being from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), unfortunately she expressed what was in her heart, we refute words that come from some people because they are words of shirk; the least that can be said: they are words of shirk, and this is found abundantly in Syria, in Egypt, and here perhaps.
The student: Peace be upon you.
The Shaykh : Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you.
So when I refuted, what did she say? Allah and he, Allah and he, Allah is the Greatest!! The summary: she spoke what Allah made easy, this expresses what is in the hearts of these people, leave aside the widespread Sufi expressions that they call the "disposers of the universe," it is very clear shirk, perhaps the first polytheists about whom the Lord of the Worlds directly said in the previous verse:[Yusuf 12:106] did not believe that there are disposers of the universe as these people believe.
The point: that the Muslims today are in need of clarifying the reality of these two testimonies, if we leave the masses of the common Muslims and they are ignorant of the tawhid of the Lord of the Worlds; the tawhid known among the Salafis is tawhid al-rububiyyah, tawhid al-uluhiyyah, and tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat, and we say that there are people who know this tawhid, but nevertheless they do not know the tawhid of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in following him; therefore I said: there are two tawhids - a refinement in expression -; a tawhid related to the Lord of the Worlds, and a tawhid related to the Master of the Messengers, the tawhid of the Lord of the Worlds in worshipping Him alone, having no partner, the tawhid of the Master of the Messengers by following Him alone, having no partner, but the Muslims associated with the Messenger many partners, even the students of knowledge, even the ignorant of the Muslims appointed themselves as legislators, when you refute one and say to him: O my brother, do not do this, the Messenger did not do it, what is wrong with it? What is wrong with it?! This is a good deed, he does not know that the good did not leave for anyone any room at all to add to him (peace be upon him) anything, as came in the authentic hadith:, and what is it? , he did not leave room for a speaker.
The Shaykh : By Allah, there is no power and no strength except with Allah! We have spoken about this issue so much that I almost got tired of it.
