Explanation that backbiting is divided into two categories.

The Shaykh : And I would like to mention on this occasion that backbiting about people, as is clear from the hadith of the girl and the man who backbitten, is of two kinds: without right and with right. Ibn Abbas indicated to the man that it is obligatory for him to turn away and avoid backbiting, even if it is with right; that is, he should not say about that girl that she is a fornicator, even if she were. As for backbiting without right, it is not only described as not being among Islamic manners, but it is a sin from the major sins. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say, as in Sahih Muslim: Sahih Muslim 91a The relevance of this hadith is that he (peace and blessings be upon him) initially said: Sahih Muslim 91c So the Companions asked him; the man wanted to wear something beautiful, and the hadith contains details that I have mentioned on previous occasions. He (peace be upon him) said there is no harm in adorning oneself, and this is not arrogance if it is not accompanied by arrogance; because Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. So they asked, then what is the arrogance that whoever possesses it will not enter Paradise? He (peace be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 91a Here is the point: if the believer is not a backbiter, meaning even if he backbites with right, then all the more so he should not backbite without right, so that he does not take the great cause for not entering Paradise, due to his saying (peace be upon him): Sahih Muslim 91c Then he explained arrogance as rejecting the truth after it has become clear and backbiting people without right. We ask Allah to create us with Islamic morals and to discipline us with Muhammadan manners.
Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace
إنَّ الله جميلٌ يحبُّ الجمالHe who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise.
لا يدخل الجنة مَن كان في قلبه مثقال ذرَّةٍ من كبرٍPride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people.
الكبر بطر الحق ، وغمط الناسHe who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise.
لا يدخل الجنة مَن كان في قلبه مثقال ذرَّةٍ من كبْرٍ
