Explanation of the Hadith: (… Raise your izar, for it is more pious and purer).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Perhaps you remember with me a hadith narrated by some of the compilers of the Sunan or the Musnads:
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man who had lengthened his izar, so he called out to him and said: "Raise your izar, for it is more pious and purer." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am Ahnaf." أن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم رأى رجلًا قد أطال إزاره، فناداه فقال: ارفع إزارك فإنه أتقى وأنقى، فقال: يا رسول الله إني أَحنَف
:
Al-Ahnaf is: the one with crooked legs, you know this. Usually, our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, created every human being with straight legs, but that man excused his lengthening of his izar by saying that he wanted to cover this crookedness which he does not control, because Allah created him that way. So when he excused himself to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for lengthening his izar to cover the crookedness of his legs, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and here is the point of the evidence:
O so-and-so, every creation of Allah is good. يا فلان كلُّ خلق الله حسن
:
And this is a reality that the majority of people, unfortunately, have overlooked, even some of the scholars. We see among humans the white, the black, the brown, the yellow, and so on. Did Allah create this in vain? Far be it from Him.
So if we find a man with a beard or a woman with a beard, this is the creation of Allah. If we find a woman with a beard, and we strike her as they say in Syria: 'Illawiyyah, a woman with a beard, and what is the strangeness in that?!
Our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, wants to remind the heedless, as He said in the Noble Qur'an:
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him. وربك يخلق ما يشاء ويختار ما كان لهم الخيرة سبحانه وتعالى عما يشركون
[Al-Qasas 28:68]
So He created these forms, shapes, and colors. He created men and distinguished them from women with beards, but He may create a man without a beard. Do you think this was—as the naturalists or the materialists say—a natural accident, or was it a deliberate act from Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, as we Muslims believe? The matter is so without doubt, because people usually, when they become accustomed to something, overlook its wisdom and the power that created it in that thing. So our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, wants to remind His servants by creating for them things they are not accustomed to. He creates a beardless man, and He creates a woman with a beard. Do you think it is permissible for the beardless man to adopt a false beard in the manner of the British English lords, whose false traditions include shaving the beards with which Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, adorned them, and then when the time comes for the parliament to convene according to their system, they adopt false beards and enter their parliament with them? This is the height of foolishness and ignorance, so there is no strangeness in that, because as it is said: "There is no sin after disbelief". But if a man is created by Allah beardless like a woman, with no beard on his chin, is it permissible for him to adopt a false beard and restore the image of a man before men?!
The answer is: No, why?
Because he changes the creation of Allah. Similarly, when Allah, Mighty and Majestic, showed us the change from the usual among bearded men by creating a man or more than one man without a beard, beardless as we said earlier, similarly, Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, by His power and wisdom, wants to show the women that He is the Doer of what He wills, so here He created a woman with a beard. Subhan Allah, the All-Seeing?!
So, is this your creation or the creation of your Lord?!
Therefore, it is obligatory for every Muslim to be pleased with what Allah has created for him and not to change anything of His creation except by the permission of his Lord. What do you say if a man said: "I wish I were a woman," or a woman said: "I wish I were a man"?!
Is this not an attempt to change the Sunnah of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in His creation, and He is the One who said:
The Sunnah of Allah, and you will not find any change in the Sunnah of Allah, and you will not find any turning away from the Sunnah of Allah. سنة الله ولن تجد لسنة الله تبديلًا ولن تجد لسنة الله تحويلًا
And this is sufficient.
