Can we describe Allah - the Exalted - as moving? And what is the evidence if the answer is "yes"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: His EminenceThe Shaykh- May Allah preserve you - , can we describe Allah - the Exalted - as moving? And what is the evidence if the answer is "yes", and may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : The answer is in the negative, not "yes"; because it is not permissible for a Muslim to describe his Lord except with what He described Himself with in His Book, or with what His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described Him with, from what is authentic of his hadith. Indeed, the description of Allah - Blessed and Exalted is He - with being above, and that He descends, has come, and that is not like if we said that He moves or transfers; because these words were not transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), let alone that they were not mentioned in the Noble Qur'an; and therefore it is not permissible to describe Him with the permissibility of some attributes. We know that it is the nature of humans that when they ascend or descend, we do not conceive of their ascent and descent except with movement that corresponds to their being created. As for Allah - Mighty and Majestic - about whom we know nothing except what He described Himself with; it is not permissible to describe Him with movement and transfer, but rather we describe Him with what has come of descending and coming and the like.
