What is the methodology that the Shaykh advises the Salafis to adopt in order to reach the desired goal?

The questioner : The following statement was the Shaykh's answer to a question I asked, which was: What is the methodology that the Shaykh advises the Salafis to adopt in order to reach the desired goal?
The Shaykh : In reality, I am not, I mean, the kind of person who can establish methodologies. I know some of our brothers in Damascus; my approach was intellectual. I mean, if we assume a man is a scholar in tafsir, or in hadith, or in fiqh, that does not mean he is able to establish a methodology, because establishing methodologies is an independent science, either acquired or innate. But I can, if a methodology is established, look at it; perhaps some observations will occur to me, and I can present them. As for me presenting a methodology, I am not qualified for that; that is the truth.
The questioner : Glory be to Allah! So, O our Shaykh, who would be qualified if not Shaykh Nasir al-Din al-Albani?
The Shaykh : A person, my brother, speaks within the limits of what he knows. And if this statement is heavy for some people who hold al-Albani in high esteem, I will say a word that is, I mean, easily acceptable to them, which is:
I have no space in my mind to think about such issues. Is this answer acceptable?! But as for me personally, it is what I told you before.
The questioner : May Allah increase you in humility.
Well, O our Shaykh, for example, if they agreed to teach *Al-Ba'ith al-Hathith* in terminology, and *Al-Tahawiyyah*, and *Fiqh al-Sunnah*, is that good? Is that among what they proposed?
The Shaykh : That is good; that is what I advise.
The questioner : Those three?
The Shaykh : Yes, I do.
The questioner : Well, and what about the *Alfiyyah*, O Shaykh? Some people study al-Suyuti's *Alfiyyah*?
The Shaykh : The *Alfiyyah*, my brother, is poetry that requires memorization, and then it is complex. I mean, it requires explanation, and the explanation requires a marginal note, and the marginal note requires a commentary.
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : Welcome.
