Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence! Regarding the 'Id sacrifice, this questioner asks: If there is a person who has wealth but is not of sound mind, should the 'Id sacrifice be performed on his behalf from his wealth, since it was his custom to sacrifice when he was of sound mind?

The Shaykh : The 'Id sacrifice is not performed on his behalf, because if he has reached a state where he has no discernment, it is not permissible for anyone to donate any of his wealth. The 'Id sacrifice is a donation. Furthermore, a man like this may have one of his adult children in the house who sacrifices on his behalf, on behalf of his father, and on behalf of his family.
