The difference between the people of the Sunnah and the community and the other sects is understanding in accordance with the understanding of the righteous Salaf.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And we mentioned recently: that all Islamic sects, without excluding any single one, every one of them says: "We are upon the Book and the Sunnah," but you will not find any one of them saying: "And upon what the righteous Salaf were upon." So this is a difference in the foundation and the principle. This is the disagreement that is harmful. As for disagreement in a specific issue, that is not harmful. There is no difference between whether this issue is in creed or in the rulings of the Shari'ah. What is important is that the principle and the foundation be agreed upon.
