I am a university student, and praise be to Allah, I have been guided to growing the beard, but I have trimmed a little of it from the neck area and the upper part of the cheek, and some people have opposed me

The questioner : He says: I am a university student, and praise be to Allah, I have been guided to growing the beard, but I take a little from it from the neck area and the upper part of the cheek. Some people have opposed me and said it is not permissible, knowing that this excess hair bothers me. What is your opinion, your Excellency? Please advise us, and may Allah reward you with good and guide you and us. The sender is Abdullah Salah?

The Shaykh : As for what is under the throat, it is not part of the beard because it does not grow on the cheeks. As for what is on the cheeks, the implication of the words of the scholars of language is that it is part of the beard. Therefore, we do not see that this brother should take anything from it, but rather keep the hair on the cheeks and the temples as it is, because it is part of the beard according to what is in the words of the scholars of the Arabic language.
