The questioner : In the first question, it is stated: A man saw our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in his dream, and he said to him, “Pray for me, O Messenger of Allah.” Is this a true vision or an imagination? We ask for your guidance. May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a reality, for Satan does not take his form. However, it is obligatory to judge the description of the one seen according to the descriptions that came in the hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding his (peace and blessings be upon him) attributes. If the attributes match those of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then it is true. If they differ, then what he saw was not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : This issue often occurs with some people. They see an imagination that they believe to be the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or they are told that it is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, when they describe what they saw, they find that its attributes contradict the attributes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). By this, it becomes clear that what they saw was not correct.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : In any case, it is necessary to know that the attributes of the one seen in the dream match the attributes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If they do not match, then what he saw was not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : You have done well, O gentlemen. We have reached the end of this session, in which we reviewed the questions of the honorable listeners.
