The questioner : But regarding the sighting of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), as this person mentioned, and it was seen, for example, clearly before the audience, we also want a comment on this?

The Shaykh : First, we say: This story, indeed every story and every report, cannot be established unless it reaches us through the path of trustworthy narrators. Then, when it reaches the end of the chain of narration, we also look at this man who spoke of having seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): is his report accepted or not accepted? Then, after that, we look at how he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or a part of his body (peace and blessings be upon him), and whether it was according to the known description established from the descriptions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or not? Because whoever sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream has truly seen him, and whoever truly sees him sees him as he is in worldly life (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, if someone sees a hand and is told, or it occurs to him, that it is the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), it is not accepted that it is the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), if he is seen, is seen according to the description he is. And this story, as I said first, is doubtful in its report, doubtful in the reporter, and doubtful in what he saw, so it is not accepted at all.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : This is a message we received from a student in the College of Medicine, University of Riyadh. The sender, H.A., asks your eminence to issue a ruling on the following.
