If the ma'mum enters the mosque while the imam is bowing, he bows and then moves to the back of the row

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : You mentioned, Your Eminence, that if the ma'mum enters the prayer, meaning he enters the mosque while the imam is bowing, he bows and then moves to the row. I mean, no one says: if the ma'mum sees the imam in the final tashahhud and fears that the prayer will be missed, he should sit down to catch up with the imam from the place where he entered to the front of the mosque; because if he reaches the row, the imam might say the taslim?

The Shaykh : I mean, he performs the tashahhud where he is?

The questioner : He sits down to catch up with the imam and sits in that place?

The Shaykh : There is no evidence for this scenario. This scenario is subject to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
When you come to pray, do not come rushing; come walking in a dignified manner, and whatever you catch up with, pray, and whatever you miss, make it up. إذا أتيتم الصلاة فلا تأتوها وأنتم تسعون ، وأتوها وعليكم السكينة والوقار ، وما أدركتم ؛ فصلوا ، وما فاتكم ؛ فأتموا
Sunan an-Nasa'i 861Sahih (Darussalam)
. As for sitting here and praying alone without moving to join the congregation; this has no basis whatsoever!
