The Chains of Narration from the People of the Shi'ah; How Authentic Are They?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ...what they deserve, they will not be saved from what they have brought upon us, they before others, because they believe in some of the Companions and declare disbelief in the majority of the Companions. So what they bring against all of our Companions is brought against some of our Companions in whom they believe, and there is no difference. This is from one aspect. From another aspect, we say that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the Guardian of His religion, and among His guarding of His religion is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) exposed the fabrication of that man against His Prophet and inspired him to warn his Ummah from falling into such a lie, and He said: Sunan Abi Dawud 3651Sahih (Al-Albani). This hadith and its like were a driving force for the people of the Sunnah, not the scholars of the Shi'ah, and I do not say the Imams of the Shi'ah, because the Shi'ah have no Imams, and even if they have true Imams—like Ja'far al-Sadiq and the known people of the Household of the Prophet who are renowned for their knowledge and virtue—they are our Imams, not their Imams, because they mock them greatly and very greatly.
My intention is that this hadith, for which that occasion arose and Allah inspired His Prophet to be a warner;Sunan Abi Dawud 3651Sahih (Al-Albani), this hadith and its like were among the causes that led the Imams of the people of the Sunnah, not the scholars of the Shi'ah, to establish the science of hadith terminology and the science of the critique and vindication of narrators. This is a point in which the people of the Sunnah surpass the Shi'ah in a way that destroys their religion from its root and branch. That is because the scholars of the Shi'ah have no principles in the science of hadith, and they have no books on the biographies of the narrators of the hadiths of the Household of the Prophet, especially those connected to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Salman al-Farisi, and the few Companions in whose companionship they have confidence. They have no knowledge of hadith terminology or the biographies of the men of hadith. Indeed, as some of the Imams of the Salaf said: "The chain of narration is part of the religion, and were it not for the chain of narration, anyone would say whatever he wished." Consequently, the scholars of today, the modern ones—even some of the disbelievers among them, in the sense of: "The merit is what the enemies have testified to"—they said: "The chain of narration is a distinctive feature of this Muhammadan Ummah." It is not only we, the Muslims, who say and take pride in what we say: "The chain of narration is a distinctive feature of this Muhammadan Ummah," but some of the disbelieving Orientalists and Arabists among them have given this true testimony: that the chain of narration is a speciality of this Ummah in which no one shares with it. And I, quoting from this consensus of the scholars, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, quote and say: The chain of narration, which is a distinctive feature among the distinctive features of the Ummah of Islam—I do not say the Ummah of Islam in its entirety, but this is a distinctive feature for the people of the Sunnah, not for the people of the Shi'ah, let alone the other sects—because they have no chains of narration. Their chains of narration are broken from them to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) by stages, and these broken chains of narration, they cannot establish their authenticity based on the shallow and few biographies they have. So what does a person say when some of the extremists of the Shi'ah object? Because the most authentic book they have after the Book of Allah—if they have an authentic one—is that they claim this Noble Qur'an is incomplete, and it is only completed by the Mushaf of 'A'ishah? Where is it?—pardon me, the Mushaf of Fatimah—where is it? It is in the realm of loss. If they rely on the Mushaf, they do not rely on anything of the Sunnah that is authentic, because the most authentic book they have is the one known as "Usul al-Kafi." Some of their writers have criticized it in some of the editions printed for this book with hundreds of hadiths, and they claim that it corresponds to our book "Sahih al-Bukhari," which follows the Book of our Lord in authenticity. If this is the case, it is of the nature of what was said long ago: "If it were without knowledge, it would be like this." And with this verse of poetry I conclude my speech, because the time has grown late and my voice has become hoarse, so please excuse me. I say to these people:
“This difference between us is enough for you *** And every vessel emits what is in it.”
And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner : ...upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and his Companions). You heard what our honorable professor said about this one who lied against the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) during the lifetime of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). It is not far-fetched that this one was among the hypocrites, and the hypocrite—Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has recorded their lying in the Noble Qur'an. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:[Al-Munafiqun 63:1]. And they used to lie in their testimony to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) regarding His divinity and to Muhammad regarding his messengership. And praise be to Allah that when the Islamic Ummah documented and wrote biographies of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they did not write biographies for any of the hypocrites, and they did not name any of these hypocrites as a Companion. And what is established regarding the Companions—and praise be to Allah—and it is among their noble qualities and virtues, is that none of them ever lied. No lie was recorded against any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And this is acknowledged by some of the Imams of the Shi'ah whom Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) saved from their misguidance. And this is Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him)—despite the disagreement between him and 'Ali, and despite the error he fell into regarding... the Muslims—he did not narrate a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the virtue of himself, nor about the virtue of the People of his Household (may Allah be pleased with them). And this indicates the extent of the truthfulness of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and their distance from lying. And due to the ignorance of the Shi'ah, meaning they do not understand such verses [Al-Munafiqun 63:1] ... the curse of Allah be upon them, and this is sufficient.
The Shaykh : May Allah reward you.
He who lies about me deliberately will certainly come to his abode in Hell.
من كذب عليَّ متعمِّدًا فليتبوَّأ مقعده من النارMy intention is that this hadith, for which that occasion arose and Allah inspired His Prophet to be a warner;
