The authenticity of the chain of narration for the hadith: “Would it please you that a cat drinks with you?”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Imam Ahmad said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah informed us from Abu Ziyad al-Tahhan, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) say: From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): That he saw a man drinking while standing, so he said to him:
Qah قَهْ
. He said: Why?

The Shaykh
Qih qih قِهْ قِهْ
It is not "qah"! He said to him:
Qih قِهْ
.

The questioner : So he said to him:
Qih قِهْ
. He said: Why? He said:
Would it please you that a cat drinks with you? أَيَسُرُّكَ أَنْ يَشْرَبَ مَعَكَ الْهِرُّ ؟
. He said: No. He said:
For he has drunk with you one who is worse than it, Satan. فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ شَرِبَ مَعَكَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ ، الشَّيْطَانُ
. Ibn Kathir said, after narrating this hadith in *Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya*: Ahmad transmitted it uniquely from this route; I do not know, O Shaykh, the authenticity of the chain?

The Shaykh : What I recall is that I authenticated this hadith in some of its takhrij, but now I do not remember or recall who Abu Ziyad al-Tahhan is. If you have a reference, you may remind us of it; otherwise, refer to the book *Ta'jil al-Manfa'ah* or the books of known kunyas. As for the hadith itself, I know it to be authentic and from the *Musnad* of Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him).

The questioner : Al-Hafiz graded it as hasan in *Al-Fath*.

The Shaykh : Al-Hafiz graded it as hasan in *Al-Fath*.
