Racing the congregation with the imam in saying: (Ameen)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the other matter, it is also something observed in many—also—in countries, even in the two Holy Mosques; that is the racing of the congregation with the imam in his saying:
Ameen آمين
; contrary to the general Sunnah, or to put it more correctly: contrary to the general command, and even the specific command. As for the general command, it is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Imam is (appointed) to be followed. So do not differ from him
Sahih al-Bukhari 722
, and in some hadiths:
Do not precede me in bowing and prostrating
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:518
. This is a general command that it is not permissible for the follower to race the imam.
As for the specific command, which is the second topic I am addressing; it is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
When the Imam says Amin, say Amin, for if anyone’s utterance of Amin synchronnises with that of the angles, he will be forgiven his past sins.
Sunan Abi Dawud 936Sahih (Al-Albani)
. What happens today in this matter is that the imam barely finishes his saying:
not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
[Al-Fatihah 1:7]
before the mosque is filled with the sound of
Ameen آمين
before they hear the imam begin his saying:
Ameen آمين
. This is a clear violation of this authentic hadith:
When the Imam says Amin, say Amin
Sunan Abi Dawud 936Sahih (Al-Albani)
you. The reality now is that we say Ameen—except for whom Allah protects—before the imam begins his saying:
Ameen آمين
. This is what I wanted to remind you of, and the reminder benefits the believers.
