Is it permissible for a traveler to pray the obligatory prayer on an airplane?

The Shaykh : If he is unable to perform it on the ground with bowing and prostration, it is permissible.

The questioner : In the direction of the airplane.

The Shaykh : Did you understand the answer?

The questioner : I understood.

The Shaykh : I do not think so.

The questioner : I did not understand.

The Shaykh : If he is unable to perform the obligatory prayer on the ground with all its pillars, it is permissible for him to pray it on the airplane.
