The questioner: My Shaykh, the phrase in this hadith.
The Shaykh: means that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said in the Noble Qur'an: [Maryam 19:71], [Maryam 19:71-72] That is, our Lord swore by His saying: [Maryam 19:71], so there is no accountable person, whether human or jinn, who will not inevitably enter the Fire. However, those who enter it are divided into two categories: either they remain in it and are tormented therein for as long as Allah wills, each according to his degree, or their entry into the Fire is a passing through without the Fire touching them. There is much evidence for this, the strongest of which is a hadith in "Sahih Muslim" where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4653Sahih (Al-Albani) So Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Has not Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Maryam 19:71]?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: أتمِّي الآية : ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا Complete the verse: Then We will save those who feared Us, and We will leave the wrongdoers therein prostrate So she understood the correct interpretation of the verse: [Maryam 19:71].
