The questioner : I am asking about the noble verse. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan.
(71) And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed. (72) Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.
[Maryam 19:71-72]
What is the meaning of this noble verse?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. The meaning of this verse is that Allah the Exalted says that no one among you will not pass over the Fire, and this news was a binding decree upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic, that is destined and inevitable. However, after this passing over, people are divided into two groups: a group that feared Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and fulfilled what is obligatory upon them of the laws of Allah in this world, so Allah, Mighty and Majestic, saves them from the Fire.
And another group: one who is unjust to himself and neglects the right of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. This one is left in the Fire prostrate. The scholars differed regarding the intended meaning of "passing over" here. Some said that the intended meaning of "passing over" is crossing over the surface of Hell on the Sirat, which is placed over the surface of the Fire. In this case, the one who was unjust is thrown into the Fire and punished according to his sins, then he comes out. And the one who was righteous is saved and is not thrown into the Fire.
And some said: that "passing over" is falling into the Fire itself, and that everyone enters the Fire, but the righteous are not harmed by the Fire in any way and do not find any of its punishment. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. In her second question, the listener Noura al-Thuwaini says.
