Is it permissible for a woman to wear the head covering in front of her father, her brother, and her mahrams, or to remove it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a woman to wear the head covering in front of her father, her brother, and her mahrams, or to remove it?

The Shaykh : Both are permissible; whether she wears it or removes it, the matter is permissible as long as the question is about permissibility. Both are permissible. However, I say: permissibility covers matters that are equal on both sides, and it also covers what is better to do than to leave, so that is also permissible. Therefore, I want to clarify a little here. After I said that both are permissible, there is no doubt that it is better for the Muslim woman to accustom herself to wearing her head covering in her own home, and not to live half-naked on the pretext that there is no stranger present. This may be true, because there is no stranger other than, for example, her husband and her son, even if it is her daughter. But these people, except for the husband, are not allowed to see any part of their mother’s body. So she is now accustoming herself to the obligatory covering at least. We have spoken about this more than once. As for now, we say: she should accustom herself to the better covering, and wear long clothing, and wear the shirt they call today "the robe" with long sleeves. If they are short and there is no choice, then to the elbows. And she should accustom herself to covering her head and hair. This is not on the basis of obligation, but on the basis of recommendation.
This is what I see in this issue.
