The Shaykh : The hadith that follows is a weak hadith; unlike the one after that, which is authentic; and it is his saying: And from Ka'b ibn 'Iyad - may Allah be pleased with him - I heard the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him - say: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2336Sahih (Darussalam).
This is a report from the truthful Messenger, who says:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2336Sahih (Darussalam); so take heed, then, do not think - and this is the end of the lesson now - do not think that accumulating wealth is primarily intended for its own sake, but rather it is intended for something else, for good. And do not think that earning wealth, especially in this time, is an easy, facilitated, and permissible path. Most of the traders today do not escape dealing in riba, this riba which is a war against Allah and His Messenger. Therefore, if one of us is poor, let him be content with what Allah has given him, as mentioned in past hadiths: , and if he is rich, let him look, as he - peace be upon him - said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2416Da'if (Darussalam), among them: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2417Da'if (Darussalam). This is a problem; it is not a single problem, but a double problem: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2416Da'if (Darussalam); so this small community must represent a large Islamic community, where every individual is either poor or rich, and one of moderate status may exist, but in any case, he is not rich. So whoever is poor and whoever is of moderate status, he must be content, and whoever is rich, he must look at where this wealth comes from? And in what does he spend and disburse it?
This is the intended meaning of these hadiths that we were - and still are - dealing with, and in the next lesson - if Allah wills - we will cover a large portion of them.
And this is sufficient, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Indeed there is a fitnah for every Ummah, and the Fitnah for my Ummah is wealth.
This is a report from the truthful Messenger, who says:
Indeed there is a fitnah for every Ummah, and the Fitnah for my Ummah is wealth.
Blessed is the one whom Allah has provided with sufficient sustenance
The feet of the son of Adam shall not move from before his Lord on the Day of Judgement, until he is asked about five things
لا تزول قدما ابن آدم يوم القيامة حتى يُسأل عن خمسabout his wealth and how he earned it and where he spent it on
how he earned it, and spent it upon
This is the intended meaning of these hadiths that we were - and still are - dealing with, and in the next lesson - if Allah wills - we will cover a large portion of them.
And this is sufficient, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
