I got to know a person who guided me to the path of knowing Allah (Mighty and Majestic)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The questioner says here: I got to know a person who guided me to the path of knowing Allah, but after a period and dealing with him, I found that he had ideas that I was wary of, because I... I don't know what? I mean, I saw that there was a type of shirk (associating partners with Allah) in them. We disagreed on a matter of work that was between us, and he said to me: "It may end, and what?"

Another questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : And what, O Shaykh?

Another questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

Another questioner : And it may harm me.

The Shaykh : And it may harm me, it may benefit me and it may harm me. What Allah willed! And he...

Another questioner : And he had narrated to him that the One who benefits...

The Shaykh : And he had narrated to me that the One who benefits and harms is Allah.

Those present : So my response...

The Shaykh : And my response to him was: "The One who benefits and harms is Allah." Did I make a mistake or not?
The Shaykh made a mistake and the student was correct, but I want to clarify a very important matter to the student. The questioner says that he got to know a person who guided him to the path of knowing Allah. Who guided the questioner to the path that makes him know Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) before this Shaykh?
Yes?

Another questioner : ... ... .

The Shaykh : Now, you must know, my brother, that the path to knowing Allah is Allah Himself. It is Allah who sent down the Book containing guidance, light, clear proofs of guidance, and the criterion. And it is through the explanation of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). If you had not previously been connected to scholars who guide you to the path that Allah has prescribed, which is a single path—"Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said"—and if it had not been made easy for you in your past life except now, in the land of disbelief, in "England," then you must know the person who will guide you to Allah. This person is the one whom, when you hear him speak, you hear him say: "Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said." If you see a person like this, he is the one who will guide you to Allah and to the path that leads to Allah.
As for these paths, these Sufi paths, the Shaykhs of the paths, they turn people away from the remembrance of Allah. Because the paths that lead to Allah are a single path, the path of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him). It was reported in "Musnad al-Imam Ahmad" and "Al-Mustadrak" by al-Hakim with a strong chain from the hadith of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) drew a line for us on the ground, and drew short lines on both sides of the line, and recited His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And that this is My straight path
. "My path," he did not say "my paths." "My path is my path," he did not say "my paths,"
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways
[Al-An'am 6:153]
; meaning: the paths,
for you will be separated from His way
[Al-An'am 6:153]
. The verse is explicit that the paths mislead people, and that the guiding path is a single path, the path of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in His Book and in the hadith of His Prophet. He (peace be upon him) said after reciting this verse and depicting the straight line for them:
This is the path of Allah, and these are the paths, and at the head of each of these paths is a Shaytan calling people to it
.
So all the paths, except the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), mislead people from the path of Allah. So beware that you or anyone else be deceived by a Shaykh who guides you to the path through one of these Sufi paths; "al-Rifa'i, al-Badawi, al-Qadiri, al-Shadhili, al-Khalwati, al-Tijani."
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority.
[An-Najm 53:23]
. So your saying to this man who threatened you that he would harm you that the One who benefits and harms is Allah is a belief in which the polytheists and the Muslims shared. So some Muslims became more misguided than the polytheists in this. The polytheists believe that Allah is the only One who harms and benefits. So today, some of the people of the paths believe that they act in the universe, that they can knock down a camel, and afflict a person with diseases. This is kufr (disbelief), kufr with shirk (associating partners with Allah) in lordship. If a Muslim believed in this alone, he would not be more than a polytheist among the previous polytheists. So it is necessary to combine the belief in tawhid al-rububiyyah (oneness of lordship) with tawhid al-uluhiyyah (oneness of worship) or tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat (oneness of the names and attributes).
Perhaps this amount is sufficient in answering this question, so that we can answer the remaining questions or some of the questions, O Shaykh Ahmad?
