The Trial of Imam Al-Albani in Prison.

The Shaykh :
He was not pleased with it, so he rephrased the question. They said, "All right, what do you say about the current ruling system? Do you support it?" I said, "No."
They asked, "Why not?" I said, "Because it contradicts Islam." Inside the prison, what would be the benefit to me...? They wanted to drag me into surrendering.
Immediately, they would drag me against my will. Instead of walking with them from the car to the prison, if I resisted, what would that resistance achieve?
It would achieve nothing. They would drag me, even if I were killed. All right, should I fight? I am not saying that I have the right to fight, but what is the benefit of this
fighting? If I live for a few days, if Allah wills it, I will call to this methodology and advise the Muslims that this is their obligation, which is better than
me opening the way for the killing of the soul over the slightest pretext. I would be killed, and my companion would be killed, and so on... and then there would remain on this
earth no one to call for the realization of the correct methodology, which is the call to Allah and to His Messenger in the manner He outlined for us.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). But some people want to flee from what they may imagine will happen, and then the punishment will befall them,
and they do not know the escape from life, because they have exposed themselves to death. The Muslim must think that he is exposed
to trial, and a very great trial: as the Exalted said: {Alif, Lam, Meem. Have the people thought that they would be left to say, "We believe," while they are not tested?
And We have certainly tested those who were before them, so Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.} And we remember the saying of the Messenger (peace be upon him),
"We, the prophets, are the most severely tested, the most excellent being the most tested, and the believer is tested according to the magnitude of his faith." So one must keep this in
mind. But one must not seek trial with his own hand. And as I said, one may be taken even if he is not from the group of takfir. The state may take him, and... and so on... All right, what do we do? We cannot fight because we are not prepared for fighting, as I said earlier.
Arrows... if we had arrows, we would need training in the use of arrows, which we do not have. And there is a very important point that
many Muslims overlook: Islam does not permit us to be treacherous. If Islam wants to be the ruler, it will announce to those it wants to fight that we and you are on opposite sides. Either you respond to our call and enter our religion, and then you will have what we have
and you will be bound by what binds us, or there will be war between us and you. This is the initiative in Islam—but in defense of the self, defend. If you see
that the interest requires you to defend, defend yourself. But how is the work done? The work begins here.
And upon you is what is upon us, and otherwise, war is between us and you. It is easy in the beginning of Islam—but in defense of oneself, so defend. If you see
that the public benefit requires you to defend, defend yourself. But how is the work done? The work begins from here.
