The Shaykh’s derivation of two benefits from the hadith of 'Amr.

The Shaykh : And based on this, we take two benefits from this hadith. The first benefit is that it is not prescribed for a Muslim to contradict the text established by the Messenger (peace be upon him) for any reason. If there had been a reason for a person among those afflicted today by lengthening their garments, this person, 'Amr al-Ansari, would have had the strongest reason to appear before people in a beautiful manner that does not draw their attention to him, or rather, that does not cause some people to laugh at him. So, when we see that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider that an excuse and specified for him the stages that he should observe—either the rank of what is best, or what is less than that, or permissibility as a last resort, or otherwise as in the other authentic hadiths: .
So whatever extends below the ankles is in the Fire.
فما طال تحت الكعبين فهو في النار
