The Shaykh : Accordingly, we take two benefits from this hadith. The first benefit is that it is not prescribed for a Muslim to contradict the text established by the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for any reason. Even if there were a reason for someone among those afflicted today by lengthening the garment, that person—namely, Amr al-Ansari—would have the strongest reason to appear before people in a handsome manner that does not draw their attention to him, or rather, some people would laugh at him. If we see that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider that an excuse, and he specified for him the stages that he should observe, namely the rank of what is best, or what is less than that, or permissibility in the end, or otherwise, as you heard in the other authentic hadiths: .
