The reality of the prescribed celebration and what we should do.

The Shaykh : I am telling you something that some of you may find strange: the celebration of the birth of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was legislated by the Messenger. Some may say now: this contradicts what was said before. But do not rush to judgment. I am saying: the celebration in general, the celebration of the birth of the Messenger, was legislated by the Messenger. However, the means that the Messenger legislated from Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) is not the same means that people practice today. What is the means that the Messenger (peace be upon him) legislated?
This is established in the most authentic book after the Book of Allah and after "Sahih al-Bukhari," which is "Sahih al-Imam Muslim." He narrated with his authentic chain from Abu Qatadah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about fasting on Monday?" — meaning, is it prescribed or not prescribed? — He answered him (peace and blessings be upon him) in the manner of the wise, saying:Sahih Muslim 1162b. In the other narration: . Some people may not understand the answer in this noble Prophetic speech due to their distance from the style of formal Arabic. He is asking: What do you say about fasting on Monday? He does not tell him: it is prescribed or not prescribed, but he tells him more than what the question hopes for. He says: As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 13:365; meaning: What do I say about fasting on Monday? You should fast on Monday; because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) created me in it and sent me as a Prophet and Messenger to all people. So it is obligatory upon you, O Muslims, to fast on Monday as thanks to Allah and as a celebration, in modern terms. We say in terms of the Shari'ah: as thanks to Allah and as a celebration of the birth of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on Monday.
Look now at how the Muslims reversed the Sunnah and the prescribed celebration? And how they established and gave the status of the prescribed celebration to the non-prescribed celebration?
The thousands — if we do not say the millions of Muslims — who celebrate the birth of the Messenger (peace be upon him), and it may happen that their celebration is actually on Monday; how many do you think among them are fasting? Very, very few. And there is no doubt that the Muslims are still following the guidance of their Lord in many matters, so we still find among them those who fast on Monday = -- May Allah have mercy on you.Another questioner : He guides us and rectifies your affairs -- = They fast on Monday, but they do not know what the wisdom is, what the purpose of this fasting is? Everyone knows that fasting on Monday has virtue and a special reward, but they do not know that the wisdom of fasting on Monday is that a person remembers this great blessing by which Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) favored the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was reported in "the two Sahihs" that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, he found the Jews fasting on the Day of Ashura, so he asked them about the reason for their fasting? They said to him: It is the day in which Allah saved Musa and his people from Pharaoh and his army; so Musa fasted it and we fast it. The Jews say: Thanks to Allah. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 1734Sahih (Darussalam) So he fasted it and ordered its fasting; so fasting on the day of the birth of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as thanks to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), this is what is prescribed by the explicit words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); so where are those who celebrate the birth of the Messenger with a non-prescribed celebration from this celebration that the Messenger (peace be upon him) legislated by his explicit text in the authentic hadith: [Qaf 50:37]? So innovation cannot be obedience and worship; because the religion has been completed, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
