Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner: Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, mentioned ... .

The Shaykh: Recite the verses, yes.

The questioner :
(27) The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? (28) [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:27-28]
.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Continue.

The questioner :
(29) And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] (30) And shade extended (31) And water poured out (32) And fruit, abundant [and varied], (33) Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, (34) And [upon] beds raised high. (35) Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation (36) And made them virgins, (37) Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, (38) For the companions of the right [who are] (39) A company of the former peoples (40) And a company of the later peoples. (41) And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? (42) [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water (43) And a shade of black smoke,
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:29-43]
.

The Shaykh: Yes, the mention of the sinners among the believers is omitted here.

The questioner: Yes.

Another questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: The omission of their mention means that I intend to say that we cannot state that they are among the people of the right hand or among the people of the left hand.

Another questioner: I mean, we do not know.

The Shaykh : Yes, of course.

Another questioner: I say that their ultimate destination is with the companions of the right hand.

The Shaykh: Their ultimate destination.

Another questioner: I mean the ultimate destination.

The Shaykh: But are they the ones intended by this verse or the one that follows it?

Another questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: We cannot state that they are among the people of the right hand or among the people of the left hand.
Yes.

Another questioner: Your Eminence, I recall reading in the exegesis that the companions of the left hand are described as associating partners with Allah.

The Shaykh: Yes.

Another questioner : From Tafsir.

The Shaykh: Fine, and how are the companions of the right hand described?

Another questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : ... .

Another questioner: ... You have not yet mentioned it.

Another questioner: I mean, just as you say:
A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:7]
.

The Shaykh: No, no, no,
A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:7]
there is no indication that
A party will be in Paradise
[Ash-Shuraa 42:7]
includes the sinners among the believers.

Another questioner: That is what we are saying.

The Shaykh: No, here you cannot say that the companions of the right hand include the sinners among the believers.

Another questioner: After pardon and forgiveness and ...

The Shaykh: Because that is a pure report
A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:7]
; here it is a report and praise regarding the companions of the right hand, and regarding the companions of the left hand it is a report and condemnation; therefore, this verse differs from that verse.

Another questioner: It is as if the companions of the right hand, when we say ... .

Another questioner:
(7) Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, (8) He will be judged with an easy account (9) And return to his people in happiness.
[Al-Inshiqaq 84:7-9]
How can this be among the punished? I mean, we are not able to be certain.

The Shaykh: We do not want to include them ever, we cannot include them; therefore, their mention is omitted.
