The Shaykh : As for the hadith that follows, which is in the same sense as the previous one, it is his saying: And from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr - may Allah be pleased with them both - that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him - said: Sahih Muslim 1054 . It was narrated by Muslim, al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.
He said in explaining kaffaf: Kaffaf is that which has no excess beyond sufficiency. That is, the kaffaf livelihood is what suffices its owner, neither falling short of his need nor exceeding it. This is the kaffaf livelihood to which the Messenger - peace and blessings be upon him - attributed to its owner that he was guided to Islam and that he succeeded in the second hadith. This is kaffaf.
He Is successful who has accepted Islam, who has been provided with sufficient for his want and been made contented by Allah with what He has given him.
