The servant does not escape the punishment of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) unless he believes in Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) together.

The Shaykh : In this hadith, there is a reference to a fundamental Islamic belief. I believe that some of the youth who have strayed from their religion need to hear a hadith like this. It is common today for there to be philosophers in Europe and America who believe that this universe has a Creator. I do not say, as some people do, that they believe this universe has a God, because many Muslims today have not even understood the concept of divinity, let alone those polytheists who disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger. I want to say: the existence of such disbelievers who have used their intellect to reach the belief that this universe has a Creator—we say that this is not sufficient for its holder to be saved from Allah on the Day of Resurrection. This is for reasons, one of which I hinted at earlier: belief in Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is of no benefit if it is limited to believing that He is the Creator of this universe, because this belief is, in reality, like a compulsory matter that a person feels by his innate disposition. However, the implications of this belief—belief in this specific Creatorship belonging to Allah (Mighty and Majestic)—which include submission to Him, worshiping Him, and devoting worship to Him alone, excluding all other created beings, no matter how great or exalted they may be; this divinity that befits Allah (Mighty and Majestic) must be added to the belief in His Creatorship (Blessed and Exalted is He). When the polytheists disbelieved in it, they became disbelievers and were fought and killed. Therefore, he (peace be upon him) said:
I have been commanded to fight the people until they bear witness to La ilaha illallah أُمِرْتُ أن أقاتلَ الناس حتى يشهدوا أن لا إله إلا الله
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3983Sahih (Darussalam)
. He was not commanded to fight people until they testify that this universe has a Creator, because this belief is insufficient. Rather, they must testify that there is no god but Allah. I do not want to delve into this testimony, its meaning, and its implications regarding belief in the oneness of worship, the oneness of attributes, and the oneness of names, as we have spoken about this many, many times. I only wanted to remind the youth not to be deceived by these philosophers and their like, who believe that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is unique in the attribute of creation and nothing else. This does not benefit them in any way, especially since if they added to their belief in the Creatorship of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) the belief in His divinity as well, and in all the names and attributes, that still would not suffice them or benefit them in any way until they believe in him (peace and blessings be upon him) as a Prophet and Messenger.
This is the meaning of the testimony:
I was commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah; when they say it, their blood and property are protected from me except by right, and their account is with Allah
. Therefore, it came in the authentic hadith in Muslim and others that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There is no Jew or Christian who hears of me and then does not believe in me except that he will enter the Fire ما من يهوديٍّ أو نصرانيٍّ يسمع بي ثم لا يؤمن بي إلا دخل النار
.
Hears of me and then does not believe in me except that he will enter the Fire. يسمع بي ثم لا يؤمن بي إلا دخل النار
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 65:262
. For this reason, there is a very great obligation upon the Muslims, but unfortunately, the Muslims are preoccupied with themselves. They have an obligation to convey this call, the call of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to those people, the Christians, the Jews, and their like among the polytheists, so that they believe in Allah and His Messenger. This is out of compassion and mercy for them, because the one who strives to have all of humanity enter Paradise is compassionate and merciful, unlike the one who does not care whether people enter Paradise or enter the Fire.
