The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:285] Who is the Messenger? Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) [Al-Baqarah 2:285], which is what Allah mentioned in His saying: [An-Nisa 4:113] So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) believed in the Book and the Sunnah. Therefore, he testified that he is the Messenger of Allah; he testified for himself that he is the Messenger of Allah. It must be so; it is necessary that he believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers.
Faith in Allah. We mentioned on this Kursi (Footstool) previously that faith in Allah includes... who mentions it?
The student: That faith in Allah includes three pillars: tawhid al-rububiyyah (oneness of lordship), tawhid al-uluhiyyah (oneness of worship), and tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat (oneness of the names and attributes).
The Shaykh : Yes, the answer is incomplete. Rest. The answer is incomplete. Faith in Allah includes four matters: belief in His existence, belief in His lordship, belief in His divinity, and belief in His names and attributes. There is no need to lengthen the discussion on this, as it has been mentioned before. It is assumed that something like this is not forgotten, because it is creed.
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."
