The Shaykh’s commendation of the virtue of "Hasan al-Banna" (may Allah have mercy on him) for the Muslim youth.

The Shaykh : Then, we are always speaking about "Hasan al-Banna" (may Allah have mercy on him). So I say, before my Salafi brothers and before all Muslims: If Hasan al-Banna (may Allah have mercy on him) had no virtue for the Muslim youth other than that he took them out of the entertainment halls, cinemas, and the like, and the cafes, and gathered them and united them on one call, namely the call of Islam; if he had no virtue but this, it would suffice him in virtue and honor. We say this believing, not showing off or being hypocritical. But at the same time, we see that some of those who claim affiliation with the "Muslim Brotherhood"—and I do not say all of them—deviate from the call of "Hasan al-Banna" himself. This is because I also believe that among the virtues of Hasan al-Banna is that his call, as he stated in some of his books and letters, is also based on the Book and the Sunnah. And although I believe that this was a foundation and a basis he established, no one from the Muslim Brotherhood themselves has stood up to simplify and detail this foundation that Hasan al-Banna (may Allah have mercy on him) established.
So I say: Hasan al-Banna served the Salafi call with this foundation he established. Because every man, every young man from the Muslim Brotherhood who read this call, when he hears something of its details from a man who may not be a party member of the Muslim Brotherhood, it is sufficient that this general brotherhood unites him with them:[Al-Hujurat 49:10]. We find, among the Muslim youth, a response to the Salafi call from the Muslim Brotherhood that is not found in the other Islamic parties. Because, in fact, I recently said this to some people, wondering at the hostility of these people, or some of them, toward us and our call. I wonder and say: Glory be to Allah! Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has made me a means to serve the call whose foundation and basis Hasan al-Banna himself established. So I served it by detailing some of its aspects. Otherwise, the complete and comprehensive detailing, in my belief, cannot be accomplished by anyone but a large group of scholars and specialists in the sciences of the Book and the Sunnah from various Islamic countries. So I am surprised when we find opposition and contradiction from some individuals who claim affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood. I am a man accustomed to frankness, and I do not know—God willing—the meaning of being hypocritical. I lived in Damascus for all this time, and there were not these rumors that we hear in this country, Jordan, and in Amman in particular. So we lived with the Muslim Brotherhood when they had their public presence, and after that as well, as we mentioned to you; they attend our lessons and they attend our prayer place on the festival, and so on.
So I say: Hasan al-Banna served the Salafi call with this foundation he established. Because every man, every young man from the Muslim Brotherhood who read this call, when he hears something of its details from a man who may not be a party member of the Muslim Brotherhood, it is sufficient that this general brotherhood unites him with them:
The believers are but brothers
