Continuation of the discussion on the reason for the people of innovation denying the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is one of the consequences of interpreting the Qur'anic texts and Prophetic hadiths, when they opened the door for themselves to discuss and to conceptualize the Lord of the Worlds as if He were a created human being. Likewise, the problem of divine speech: they conceptualized that if we say "Allah speaks," it means He has lips, a tongue, teeth, and so on. Allah is the Greatest! How ignorant are these people, where a single word in the Qur'an leads them to imagine falsehoods attributed to Allah. And knowing that these are falsehoods, and assuming that these falsehoods are necessitated by the Qur'anic text... the Qur'anic text remains... free from these falsehoods, even though they could have rid themselves of them by recalling a single verse from the Noble Qur'an:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing. لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
,
There is nothing like unto Him لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
is negation,
and He is the Hearing, the Seeing. وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
is affirmation. Therefore, negation was placed before affirmation so that it would not occur to them
And He is the All-Hearing وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ
meaning like my hearing, and
the All-Seeing الْبَصِيرُ
like my sight; no, you are in nothing. So affirm and negate. If you negate and liken, you have disbelieved in the first part of the verse. If you negate and deny the attributes, you have disbelieved in the second part of the verse. So it is necessary to combine negation with affirmation.
The Mu'tazilah actually negate, but their excess in negation led them to deny the verses of attributes, including this verse. Do you know what they did with
and He is the Hearing, the Seeing. وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
? What does it mean? Exactly as they said, meaning the result of their interpretation is like how they interpreted divine speech, and like how they interpreted rising above the Throne, they did not benefit from anything. They said: "The All-Hearing, the All-Seeing" means "The All-Knowing." First, they denied these two divine attributes. So "The All-Hearing, the All-Seeing" means "The All-Knowing." Allah described Himself as All-Knowing in many verses. Here, He did not describe Himself as All-Knowing, but rather as All-Hearing and All-Seeing. This is denial of the attributes. Then, you did not benefit from this interpretation; why? Allah is All-Knowing and so-and-so is All-Knowing; there is a sharing in the name. No, we say: Allah is All-Knowing, not like the knowledge of this knower. Say: "All-Hearing, not like the hearing of humans," and say: "All-Seeing," and the problem is solved.
