Explaining the necessity of adhering to the Book and the Sunnah according to the understanding of the righteous predecessors.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... And the Qadiyyan said:
but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
meaning: the adornment of the prophets, not their seal, meaning there is no one after him. So what is the benefit of the Qadiyyan believing in the Book and the Sunnah when they are
They distort words beyond their [proper] usages
[Al-Ma'idah 5:41]
?!
We give examples of deviant sects, a hundred percent, but there are among us, the people of the Sunnah and the community, scholars spread throughout the entire Islamic world who issue such fatwas that deviate from the Book and the Sunnah; because they do not believe in the methodology of the righteous predecessors. So now we are calling for a common word, the Book and the Sunnah, no one says: no, but we add, based on the verse that the professor mentioned:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers
[An-Nisa 4:115]
the first ones, he did not say: "And whoever opposes the Messenger after the guidance has become clear to him, we will turn him to what he turned to," but he connected it to the Messenger and said:
and follows other than the way of the believers
[An-Nisa 4:115]
; why? Because the path of the believers is the methodology that we make our methodology for understanding the Book and the Sunnah, otherwise the concepts are diverse, and this is an old and ancient example:
Looking toward their Lord
but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
meaning the adornment of the prophets, not their last one; there are prophets after the Messenger - (peace and blessings be upon him)!!
And the examples between those and these are in the hundreds, if not thousands. What is the solution, my professor, from this deviation in the name of the Book and the Sunnah? Returning to what the righteous predecessors were upon. So we call all Islamic preachers to agree with us in this methodology, as long as you say they all say this.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: Yes, but we want action, we want application. So if we differ in an issue, we refer to the Book and the Sunnah, and it does not become anger from me toward you or anger from you toward me; because we agree in the principle, we do not differ. So if we differ in an understanding, we return to the old interpretations of the righteous predecessors, so he is the judge between us. And when the Islamic preachers believe in this methodology, then rejoice in the victory of Allah - (Mighty and Majestic) - because we will have begun with the victory of Allah - (Blessed and Exalted is He) - which is a basic condition in deserving the victory of Allah - (Mighty and Majestic) -. So the purpose, my professor, is that we know the basic rules upon which the Islamic call should be established. The methods may differ, and the Companions differed as we said, but there was no one among the Companions who says: yes, and if it were so, the Messenger said, but my madhhab said so, or my shaykh said so, or I found it this way; there is no such thing among the Companions!! Imam al-Shafi'i - (may Allah be pleased with him) - was asked about an issue that has escaped my memory now: what do you say about such and such? He said.

The questioner: It is the hadith ... .

The Shaykh: Yes, what do you say about this hadith? He said to him: Do you think I left the church and tightened the sash so that I would say a word that contradicts the hadith of the Messenger of Allah - (peace and blessings be upon him)?? Where are the Shafi'is who claim affiliation to this Imam? When it is said to them: Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said, unfortunately
He turned away and kept his distance
next to it, why? Because his Imam did not say it.
My brother, your Imam did not say it, but we have other Imams. We have Abu Hanifah, we have Malik, we have Ahmad, and we have al-Awza'i, and we have Ibn al-Muhallab, and many, many indeed. Each one of us does not know but one Imam, while Allah bestowed upon the Muslim community many Imams who clarified for them these texts from the Book and the Sunnah.

The questioner: And only the student can, a student, but we did not understand it.

The Shaykh : That is the problem.

The questioner: If the hadith is authentic, then it is my madhhab. We are verifying the hadith, and we keep saying: no, no, no!! Except we take the saying of the scholar, or the saying of the scholar ... .
