If the ruler forced you to choose between two things: either shaving your beard and drinking intoxicants, or being expelled from your country; which would you choose?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Thirteen: If the ruler forced you to choose between two things with no third option: either shaving your beard and drinking intoxicants, or being expelled from your country; which would you choose?
That is what he said, either he says: If I were forced to choose, which would I choose? Or if you were forced to choose, which would you choose? Knowing that there is no country better than my own in terms of Islam?
I believe this is a mistake; meaning his statement that there is no good in an Islamic country, how can this be good when there is such a choice?!
Therefore, on this occasion, we remind you that the Muslim who is forced to choose between residing in his country while committing a sin that he believes is a sin, and persisting in avoiding the sin while leaving his country; we say: he must leave this country which has this injustice, which means we rarely imagine anything more deeply immersed in injustice than this.
So he has no excuse for remaining in that country while being exposed to such a sin and others, and this undoubtedly opens the door for these oppressors to enslave these governed Muslims; because whatever the oppressive ruler finds pleasing to impose on the people, he will say to him: either you leave or you do it. If the matter stopped there, some evil is less than some, but this means, as it is also said: "The first of the rain is drops, then it pours," so the first thing he will say to him is: do this or get out. I will not do it. Is this oppressor satisfied? He is not satisfied; because evil, as it is said, "most of the fire comes from the smallest sparks."
I say: Finally, I say from my own perspective: Finally.
