The Shaykh : He said: "And he (peace and blessings be upon him) reported that
Whoever makes an image will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to breathe the soul into it but he will not be able to do so. مَن صَوَّر صورة كُلِّف يوم القيامة أن ينفخ فيها الرُّوح، وليس بنافخ فيها أبدًا
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5360Sahih (Darussalam)
"
He said: "Al-Bukhari and others"
And here you see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) using the general term "image" when he said:
Whoever makes an image من صور صورة
This indefiniteness includes three-dimensional statues and non-three-dimensional ones, those that have a shadow and those that do not have a shadow as well.
He said: "The wisdom in forbidding statues: And among the secrets of this prohibition, and it is not the only cause, as some people think"
This is a good observation by the author.
"And it is not the only cause, as some people think. Protecting tawhid (the oneness of Allah). And among the secrets of this prohibition is protecting tawhid and avoiding imitating the polytheists in their images and idols which they make with their own hands, then they sanctify them and stand before them in humility"
And this, as we mentioned earlier, also includes other images because they are the work, creation, and possession of the disbelievers... Protecting tawhid, and so on. This is a statement in which there is no disagreement, and it is good.
He said: "And among the secrets of the prohibition regarding the maker
The sculptorالمَثَّال
is that that painter or sculptor who carves a statue is filled with arrogance, until it is as if he created a being from nothing, or invented a living creature from dust. And it was reported that one of them carved a statue, spending a long time in its carving, so when he completed it, he stood before it amazed and stunned, at its features and expressions, until he addressed it in a state of arrogance and pride: Speak, speak!"

And my opinion, based on what I read, is that when it did not speak, he smashed it thoroughly.
"And for this reason, the noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Those who paint pictures would be punished on the Day of Resurrection and it would be said to them: Breathe soul into what you have created. إن الذين يصنعون الصور يعذبون يوم القيامة، يقال لهم: أحيوا ما خلقتم
Sahih Muslim 2108a
It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim as well.
And in the hadith from Allah the Exalted:
Who are most unjust than those who try to create something like My creation? I challenge them to create even a smallest ant, a wheat grain or a barley grain. ومَن أظلم ممَّن ذهب يخلق كخلقي، فليخلقوا ذرَّة، فليخلقوا شَعِيرة
Sahih al-Bukhari 7559
It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim"

"And besides that, statues have been and still are among the manifestations of the wealthy and the luxurious, who fill their palaces with them and decorate their rooms with them"
Is this specific to three-dimensional statues? This statement did not mention whether it is specific to three-dimensional statues?
The student: General.

The Shaykh : General means general in terms of reality, because his statement: "and they decorate their rooms with them" is not specific to idols in terms of reality; oil paintings, paper drawings, and photographs also fill houses.
"And they excel in making them from different metals. And it is not far from a religion that fights luxury in all its manifestations and colors, of gold, silver, and silk, to also forbid statues in the home of a Muslim"
