The Causes and Conditions of Victory

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In our days, we are anticipating war, and knowledge belongs to Allah. What do you advise us to do so that we may take hold of the causes of victory?

We say: Victory in jihad or in fighting does not occur except through its conditions. And Allah the Exalted has explained their conditions in His saying:
And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might. (41) [And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrongوَلَيَنْصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَنْصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ * الَّذِينَ إِنْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ
[Al-Hajj: 40-41]. If these causes are fulfilled, victory is attained. However, if one of them is lacking, victory is lost to the extent of that lack.As for your saying: Regarding your anticipation of war in these days, where did you get this from? If your intention is to prepare for something that may not happen soon, and knowledge belongs to Allah the Exalted and Majestic, then the criterion is: "Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is supreme, he is in the path of Allah".Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: (A man fights out of bravery, fights out of tribal loyalty, and fights to be seen in a prominent position. Which of these is in the path of Allah?)He said: "Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is supreme, he is in the path of Allah".
