Is supporting the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a support for Allah the Exalted?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is supporting the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a support for Allah, or for the Messenger?

The Shaykh : It is undoubtedly a support for the religion of Allah, a support for Allah... a support for His religion. As for He (Exalted and Majestic is He), He had no ally from humiliation.

The questioner : The Messenger has passed away, meaning our support does not benefit him.

The Shaykh : No, my brother, it does benefit him in the sense that whoever acts upon this Sunnah, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) receives the reward of that deed, just as the worker receives his reward. So which is more beneficial for him: if a million people acted upon his Sunnah, or two million?

The questioner : Two million.

The Shaykh : So he benefits from that.

The questioner : But when one supports the Sunnah now, does he intend that it is a support for Allah, or for the Messenger?

The Shaykh : No, he intends that it is a support for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and a support for the religion of Allah as well. It is a support for the religion of Allah which this Messenger brought, and he considers himself a supporter of the Messenger in reality. Even in ordinary matters, the holder of a principle, for example, the holder of a nationality or a party affiliation or something similar, is said to have been supported even after his death.
