This is a famous hadith: (The wise one is the one who reckons with himself and works for what is after death, and the incompetent one is the one who follows his own desires and hopes for good things from Allah) There is no doubt that its meaning is correct,
And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinkingوَقَالُوا لَنْ يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ كَانَ هُوداً أَوْ نَصَارَى تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ
[al-Baqarah: 111] They hope for these things, so the person who follows his own desires and hopes for good things from Allah is not wise.
