What is the interpretation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And near to them are their shadows”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah forgive you: In the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in Surat al-Insan:
And near above them are its shades وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلالُهَا
[Al-Insan 76:14]
what does it mean, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : It means: the shadows of the trees are near to them, not far away, because the closer the shadow of the tree is, the more lush and cool the shadow becomes.

The questioner : The Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned in *al-Fatawa* that there is no sun or moon in Paradise.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Is the shadow only under the Throne?

The Shaykh : Yes, even if there were no sun or moon, you would find a shadow. Now, at the break of dawn, when the day rises, meaning before the sun comes out, you find a shadow.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : The light that emanates from under the Throne.
