The ruling on the stories narrated during the burial of the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: May Allah guide you and protect you, those who wash the deceased and bury them mention some things about them, such as a person whose body turned black when they wanted to wash him, or when they placed him in the grave he turned away from the qiblah, and they asked about him: and it turned out he did not pray, or something like that. It has been reported from you that these things may not be false nor true, so I do not know about their authenticity?
This is correct,We say: We do not affirm these things, but we do not deny them; because Allah the Exalted may manifest punishment in this world for the sake of admonition and lesson, and for this reason the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was shown the two graves in which they were being tortured, and he said: (Indeed, they are being tortured, and they are not being tortured for a great matter) ,As for exaggeration in this, such as saying: When we buried him, we found him turned away from the qiblah. This requires the soundness of the chain of narration, and smoking is not greater than other sins.
