The ruling on reciting al-Fatihah and sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the burial of the deceased

Question:
The questioner says: Some people during the burial—burial of the deceased—say certain words, such as reciting al-Fatihah, and some say: Send blessings upon Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We ask for clarification of the Sunnah in this matter?

Answer:
This is a religious innovation (bid'ah). For him to say to them: Recite al-Fatihah, or for him to recite it during the burial, this is a religious innovation (bid'ah). Rather, one says during the burial: In the name of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah. Or one says: Send blessings upon the Prophet. He sees this as an act of devotion in this place, but it is not appropriate; because designating a specific place to say: Send blessings upon the Prophet, or during a specific act without evidence, becomes a religious innovation (bid'ah).
As for reminding them, by saying: Fear Allah, remember death, prepare for the Hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reminded his Companions during the burial while he was sitting by the grave before the body was placed in the niche. It came in the hadith of al-Bara' ibn 'Azib and the hadith of 'Ali that he was sitting by the grave before the body was placed in the niche, waiting for it to be placed, and he was admonishing them and reminding them, may Allah's prayers and blessings be upon him. Yes.
