The ruling on greeting non-Muslims

Your Eminence! What is your opinion regarding extending the greeting to workers, especially since when we speak to them or converse with them, we find that they are not Muslims?
Extending the greeting to a non-Muslim is forbidden;As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family said: (Do not initiate the greeting to the Jews and the Christians) So if a person does not know and greets them on the assumption that they are Muslims, and it turns out that they are disbelievers, he is not sinful.
