The Ruling on the Pledge of Allegiance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The honorable Shaykh! What are the conditions of the pledge of allegiance? And what is the ruling on the pledge of allegiance of a madman?
The pledge of allegiance that occurs in some groups is a denunciation and an anomalous matter; because it entails that a person makes for himself two imams and two rulers: the Grand Imam who is over all the lands, and the imam to whom he pledged allegiance. It leads to evil in the form of rebellion against the imams, resulting in the shedding of blood and the destruction of wealth, the extent of which is known only to Allah. As for appointing a leader for a group, this has come in the Sunnah in the case where a group travels, that they appoint one of them.
