Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And there is none comparable to Him)

Allah the Exalted said:
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ
[Surat al-Ikhlas: 4] Meaning: No one is equal to Him in any of His attributes. Thus, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) negates from Himself being a parent, a child, or having a like.
This surah has a great virtue,The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (It is equivalent to one-third of the Qur'an) but it does not take the place of one-third of the Qur'an,By the evidence: in that if a person recites it three times in the obligatory prayer, it does not suffice for him in place of the Fatiha, even though if he recites it three times, it is as if he had recited the entire Qur'an. However, it does not suffice for him. Do not be surprised that a thing is equivalent to another thing but does not suffice in its place. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that whoever says: (There is no god but Allah alone, having no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things) is as if he had freed four slaves from the descendants of Isma'il. And yet, if a person owed a neck as expiation and said this dhikr, it would not suffice for him in place of the expiation. Therefore, the equivalence of one thing to another does not necessitate that it takes its place in sufficiency.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this surah in the second rak'ah of the voluntary prayer of Fajr, in the voluntary prayer of Maghrib, and in the two rak'ahs of tawaf. He also used to recite it in the third rak'ah of witr; because it is based on complete sincerity to Allah,For this reason it is called: Surat al-Ikhlas.
