Ruling on the two rak'ahs of tawaf behind the Maqam and when the Tawaf area is crowded
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: Is it obligatory to pray the two rak'ahs of tawaf behind the Maqam, even if the Tawaf area is crowded?
It is preferable for the two rak'ahs of tawaf to be prayed behind the Maqam, but if the Tawaf area is crowded and the circumambulators have reached the Maqam, it is not permissible for you to pray in a place that the circumambulators need; because that causes them harm and restricts them, and it results in distraction and confusion for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a person from praying while his mind is preoccupied,So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (There is no prayer in the presence of food, nor while one is struggling to relieve oneself), and pushing aside the circumambulating people while you are praying is more severe than struggling to relieve oneself,And in this case we say: Pray in any place in the mosque, but it is preferable to place the Maqam between you and the Ka'bah, even if you are far away.
